Product Description
The Jagdpanther was a tank destroyer built for German Wehrmacht during World War II based on the chassis of the Panther tank. Many historians consider the Jagdpanther to be the best tank destroyer of World War 2. Around 392 Jagdpanthers were produced in 1944 and 1945. They equipped heavy antitank battalions and served mainly on the Eastern Front, although significant numbers were concentrated in the West for the Ardennes Offensive. The Jagdpanzer 38(t) (Sd.Kfz. 138/2), after World War II known as Hetzer, was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War based on a modified pre-war Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t) chassis. The Hetzer was intended to be more cost-effective than the much more ambitious Jagdpanther and Jagdtiger designs of the same period. Using a proven chassis, it avoided the mechanical problems of the larger armoured vehicles.
